What to do with thick, straight, frizzy hair? Won’t hold curls very well?

frizzy straight hair

I have thick, straight, frizzy hair, and I’ve tried doing different things with it but nothing seems right… I have a couple waves, enough to make it look funny unless I straighten it.

I can’t hold a curl for more than 20 minutes, and I haven’t tried scrunching it, although I doubt that would work (and I don’t really get what to do about mousse or gel or whatever).

I don’t have any bangs, and it’s about 4 inches past shoulder length. Normally I put it up or wear it straight. Any suggestions?

You could try scrunching it. Wet your hair throughly, or when you just get out of the shower. Tip your head forward and run your fingers through it making fists. Bring your head back up and dab gel through the roots and the bottoms. Not too much because then it’ll get chunky and thick. Style it how you want with your fingers and then use a lot of hairspray if you have trouble holding a curl. This also works if you want to wear a headband or clips, or even put it up with a couple pieces down.

Well, you definetly should get layers. This will make it lighter, put some more waves to it, and give it some volume. Then, just shower and put it in a bun before bed, and when you wake up, take out the bun and you’ll have a natural, subtle curl, that doesnt look like you’re trying too hard!

    ok i use mousse
what i do is put it on the section of my hair im about to curl with the curling iron (make sure your hair is dry wen u apply the mousse) then try putting the curlying iron on. hold it for 30-45 seconds.then do the same processfor each curl !!!works really good

try leaving in conditioner for ten to fifteen minutes, which weighs hair down and makes it smoother. also try blow drying it with thermal straightening products and straighten it with a ceramic iron. this pretty much always makes my hair smooth (my hair is thick and kind of wavy)
