remove facial pores

these pores are mainly due to oily skin. I have blackheads on my nose and sometimes on m cheecks. I get a facial every once in a while (maybe twice a year) and she removes the gunk from my pores. However these pores persist. I do not have cystic acne, however sometimes an occasional zit or whiteheads will appear. What is the best way to make these less noticable?

You need to clean out the black heads on a much much more regular basis. You can do this with a foaming face wash. After cleaning you need to use an astringent which helps shrink your pores. This will help you from getting black heads since the pores will start to be so small. As a side note, black heads stretch pores so get ride of them ASAP!

Keep going with the facials. If you can afford, try and go every 2-3weeks as this will benefit your skin a lot!

The best thing I can recommend is a great toner. Toners are designed to shrink pores and tighten the surface of the skin. Use day and night in your cleansing routine and also get one in a spritzer and spray during the day. This will help minamise the gunk that gets in your enlarged pores.

Then, find a minimizing cream - get your facialist to recommend one to you and keep using that until you start to see a difference ( and you will ). Just be patient with it. Climate also effects enlarged pores, so a spritzer of water to cool skin during the day in a humid climate should help.

If all else fails - go to a facialist who can tell you all this at a salon and see what she recommends, we are all different and that is just my opinion. It is hard without seeing you skin, though! Good Luck!

Several things…. First, prevention is key. The more “moisture” (in this case, oil), the larger the pores you will have. Are you using a toner? If not, run, don’t walk. I have oily skin myself, and larger pores around my nose and cheek area. I also am prone to Blackheads. I use Clinique Lotion (Toner) #3 in the Summer and #2 in the Winter. I also use Biore Pore Strips 1-2 times per week. It has an immediate impact. You can see all the crud that comes out of your pores. Ugh… It’s gross. Also, there are products that can tighten your pores. I am most familiar with Clinique, since this is what I use. They have a product called 7 Day Scrub which is used daily to clean out impurities. They also have Pore Minimizer Refining Lotion - smooths skin and minimizes pores. Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector - it’s a light concealer that minimizes at the same time. Turnaround Cream - speeds cell renewal (exfoliation) which can also prevent breakouts and blackheads. And my favorite, favorite product (again, run don’t walk) is their mask: Thermal Active Skin Refiner. You put it on your face dry, then add water to your fingertips. I rub for 30-60 sec and rinse off. I have the best luck with the scrub, Instant Perfector, and the mask. You can find more info at. P.S. Their moisturizers also rock!
