Should I use a facial sauna before or after cleansing?

I just purchased a facial sauna that is supposed to steam open pores. My question is, should I steam before or after cleansing? Generally, my facial cleansing just consists of rinsing as much makeup off my face as I can with plain water and a soft cloth, then use a gentle cleansing facial wipe to remove the residue and that’s all. On the evenings I choose to do a deeper cleansing with the sauna, should I use it before or after the cleansing cloth? Or should I do it first? I wonder if that would leave my pores at risk for makeup residue getting in them if I don’t cleanse everything off first.

Use it before so your pores will be open when you scrub or exfoliate. then use cold water to rinse and close the pores up again to avoid dirt from air pollutants entering the skin.

Steam, Cleanse, Tone, (Mask if needed) Moisturize.
You need to open your pores to make them more receptive to the cleanser.. Once cleansed you will close the pores with your toner to trap the good stuff in.
That’s what we do in the spa! Give it a try.

Use it after the cleanser always!

What I would do is use a basic make up cleanser to take off the entire make up residue, and then use the facial sauna to open up all your pours it should only take a few minutes. After that I would use a special cleanser that clears out black heads and closes up your pours so that after black heads can’t form. I recommend a masque that dries and you can just peal off - St. Ives makes lots of really nice products for this.

I usually clean me face first other wise you will notice the make up build up around the top of the sauna where you put your face in and after you use the sauna put on a light face cream
