squash is great chopped into wedges,(skin on), scooped, drizzled in oil and garlic, then roasted and served with creme fresh.i dont like pumpkin as it stinks…its good to make a face for halloween and thats about it!lol.but i suppose if it was made and prepped properly i would like it…its just the smell!

There are only two things you need to do to roast a pumpkin.

    1. Take out the insides, unless you want the pumpkin to explode in your oven.

    2. Leave the skin on. It will soften as it cooks, but like other squash, don’t eat it.

You can season if you wish, as you wish, but the two steps listed are manditory

I have no idea about squash, but I consider myself the taste expert when it comes to baked pumpkin!

Leave the skin on because it helps to hold it all together when baking and turning / serving etc.

And contrary to belief, yes, you can eat the skin. I don’t, but my Mum loves it.

I usually use Jap or Kent pumpkin sliced into half inch thick crescent shapes and brushed with oil in a baking dish.

Littlemiss, if you know about pumpkins, you also know about squashes, they are the same family. I learnt something from you, I didn’t know pumpkin skin can be eaten… I do know that squash skin is very nutritious…
