Just buy a jar of Vaseline and apply a smear several times daily. It works great!

December 8th, 2007 at 9:44 am
Well, since they are chapped.
I would try CHAP STICK!
December 9th, 2007 at 6:24 am
dont stop using it. dead skin falling off is getting rid of your dead skin!!!
December 12th, 2007 at 2:41 am
petroleum jelly works really well
there will always be dead skin but not for long
December 12th, 2007 at 4:28 am
use carmex it is really the best or just plain vaseline not the chapstick stuff…that dries my lips out too…
also, what is the toothbrush trick…

NO toothpase. Every morning just, rinse your lips with water from the faucet or something, and then use Vaseline. And carry Chapstick with you everywhere you go. Thats all.

Try using burts beeswax or carmax. I prefer Burt’s beeswax, because it has a cool feeling on your lips. They both do the trick though.
December 17th, 2007 at 8:20 am
use burts bees
December 19th, 2007 at 4:46 am
try using vaseline, and keep doing the toothbrush trick until you dont have anymore dead skin
December 20th, 2007 at 3:35 am
no i think vaseline works the best!!
December 22nd, 2007 at 6:30 am
use blistex, it’s a little bit more expensive but it works.
December 24th, 2007 at 9:45 pm
vaseline is great for ur lips, dont put to much on.
December 25th, 2007 at 3:17 am
Try using Abreva I know it is for cold sores but it really works! I tried it and it healed in like 1 or 2 days! See if it works!
December 27th, 2007 at 7:00 am
use one part brown sugar to one part Olive oil (this will exfoliate your lips but the oil will hydrate them) then put on either Burt’s bees or your favorite chap stick. Also a lip gloss over it will help keep your lips from being chapped
December 29th, 2007 at 3:17 am
keihls lip balm is really good. And it’s only like 2$.
I wouldn’t use Vaseline. It’s slimey and gross.
December 29th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
wow, another brilliant soul.
its called chap stick. you use it when your lips are chapped.
December 31st, 2007 at 1:07 am
try putting on some blistex.
January 1st, 2008 at 8:53 am
neosporn lip teatment is the best and dont put so much of it on and do not use whatever you are using now
January 3rd, 2008 at 1:54 pm
I like to use Blistex - the kind in a tube, not the stick. I keep putting it on all day and at night. It works. Also, avoid caffeine and drink a lot of water or other non-carbonated, non-caffeinated drinks. That helps a lot.

Use chapstick, burts bees, blistex, and vasiline!! And what is the toothbrush trick?
January 8th, 2008 at 2:01 am
in the uk we say as soon as you know u are going to get chapped lips or something like that you have to put something wet on the area , so we just use e45 cream
January 10th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
put on vaseline and then rub it in with an old toothbrush for one minute
January 13th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
the same thing always happens to me during winter months. you should get some vasaline. aka petroleum jelly. they are available at stores like CVS and Albertsons.
January 16th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Use Aquaphor… more so at night, dab some water on your lips and then put some aquaphor on it.. .You can buy it at a drugstore.. i’ve seen it at walmart.

I’m not really sure, maybe you just shouldn’t use so much?
I usually put chapstick on in the morning and once again during the day if it’s cold out. Then I use a small amount of vaseline once at night (just enough to cover my lips), and my lips never get so chapped it hurts, they really don’t even get chapped at all.
So I would suggest using less and using it more often.

Leave your lips alone for a few days, let them heal. THEN use the toothbrush trick to get a little of the dead skin and put vaeline on. Don’t put on too much, because you’ll be rubbing your lips together and it’ll agitate them.
January 22nd, 2008 at 2:01 pm
You should rub your lips gentley with a warm cloth next time you are in the shower to rmove the dead skin. After a few days of doing this you should be fine. Also you need to drink more water and use chapstick often.
January 24th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
have you ever tried to exfoliate your lips? They sell them at Bath and Body works…they are called CO Bigelow lip exfoliators…try that with a good lip moisturizer. I recommend something a little more solid than the lip theropy. More like a lip balm. Hope that helps…

my lips are always incredibly chapped.. start carrying around medicated chap stick.. but if u aren’t a fan of petroleum use burts bees.

January 28th, 2008 at 2:22 pm

Use something designed for your lips that you can take with you. Carmex or chapstick. It’s made to moisturize your lips and if it doesn’t stop get a medicated lip balm. You should stop using vaseline … jelly type things hold in moisture but dry out more when it’s gone from being openly exposed to air like your lips are if not designed for the exposure. Something that will work in and keep working (like lipbalm) wont do that if you apply it when your lips start to feel chapped. It’s an easy fix and chapsticks are cheap. Carmex comes in a sqeeze tube and twist top can, in regular and cherry now too. Chapsticks like the Chapstick brand are really good, cheap and have so many options there is something for most everyone. Check a pharmacy, general store, walmart, anywhere. Look around and find what works.
-Don’t use things on your mouth that aren’t meant for your mouth. Ingesting some of these things can be really gross and make you sick. Don’t use regular neosporn but the lip treatment from neosporn if you want to try that. Chapsticks and like others have said some simple lipgloss are always the best options for maintaining moisture throughout the day. Try not to lick your lips a lot as well.

Well first things first, stop licking your lips. This dries them out. I know that naturally people lick their lips and that’s fine. But don’t do it as often. Instead use the original brand of Chap-Stick. I always use this. I also keep a jar of vaseline around my house. This jar is for my lips only. Use this often. Don’t smear a big glob on but put on a layer throughout the day. I’ve done this for years and my lips never get chapped and are extremely soft. The fellas love it, I might add (lol)
oh and don’t stop using what you’re using. You actually want the dead skin to come off. It’s dead so there is no reason for it to be there. Always keep your lips moist.

I took my oldest daughter to the doctor for chapped lips. She has a bad habit of licking her lips when it gets cold outside, and that was only making her lips worse. The doctor recommended Aveno Medicated Chap Stick. We started using it, and it has worked wonders. I strongly recommend it to anyone with chapped lips!

Your lips are chapped because the humidity is too low in your house. Try putting a kettle on a slow boil with some cinnamon or other spice to up the moisture in the air.
Go with Chapstik or Blistik as they don’t wear off as quickly as vasoline would.

neutrogena lip moisturizer. IT IS THE BEST. a little expensive, available at pharmacies. but WORTH IT
February 8th, 2008 at 1:59 am

February 8th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
CARMEX!!! my lips were so chapped there were cracks in my lips and i was getting canker sores but i used carmed and omg it works soooo good i use it as chap stick now. You can get it in a tube or little jar type thing form like target or CVS. Good luck!!
