so i just brought this one straightener, its a HAI convertible. it works great. but then after a couple uses the paint on the plate began chipping off. is this bad and will this damage my hair more? is it normal?
yes, it is ceramic and it was pretty affordable, about a little more than a hundred.

i dont think it will affect your hair, it just the product is too cheap. I think you should go back to that store return it and ask them how come this is going on.

it shouldn’t be doing that. it’s likely ceramic coated, and the ceramic coating is coming off. take it back to wherever you bought it, and if you can’t return it to them, the company will take it back and replace that one..

i agree. definitely return it. i have the same straightener and my paint hasn’t chipped off. just make sure you aren’t straightening your hair when it it too wet. dry it as much as you can before because the paint could be chipping off because of that.
hope i helped =)!

Definitely get a new one! It shouldn’t chip at all, much less chip when its still considered NEW!
In my opinion just spent the money and get a top of the line one now, it’ll be worth it in the long run, thats what I had to do.
