Balding or receding hairline?
Posted in Men's Health by: admin
hi, I turned 18 three months ago and for the past year I’ve noticed my hairline has receded about 2.5 inches, not the middle front part above my eye brows, but at the ends where it progresses to the sides (sorry, I don’t know the terminology). i’m not sure if it’s balding or just a maturing hairline. my father is bald, but he didn’t start balding until his mid 30s, which should be 15 - 20 years from now for me, so i doubt it’s hereditary. i don’t mind starting to going bald at 35, but come on, 17? :\
i did have for a while a mediocre diet, lacking vegetables and fruit. i also didn’t take vitamins for a while, but in the past couple months i’ve improved upon on both vitamins and my diet, but what foods/vitamins could i eat that would be healthy for hair growth (if i am balding due to poor nutrition)?
also, any shower tips? hot water, cold water.. I heard taking a shower every day damages the hair, so should i wear a cap?
i’m going to a dermatologist next week, thanks for the help
also, is there any chance of my hair growing back if i improve my diet, or will that not be able to save the hair i’ve lost already, but just prevent it from losing more? thanks
Hair balding gene??
Posted in Men's Health by: adminMy fiance started crowning at the top of his head; balding at around 12. By the time he was 18 , the upper part of his head was completely bald, only the sides of the head/ hair remained. I was just wondering if our child would also have this same condition? I was advised the balding gene runs in the females side and my side has no balding what so-ever, but I was not sure if this was accurate or not. Thanks a bunch!
not this this HAS ANYTHING to do w/ my ?– but he DOES shave his head. lol
balding with no family history?
Posted in Men's Health by: adminHi!
I’m a 25 year old male, and have noticed my hairline receding fairly rapidly over the last 3 months, mostly in the corners on the top of my forehead, somewhat more on one side that the other. It’s still okay enough that I can cover up the bald spot with my bangs, but I’m concerned it will get much worse. Before this, I’ve always had a perfectly thick head of hair, albeit with a pretty bad itchy-scalp problem.
The reason I’m concerned is how fast this happened (just started getting bad 3 months ago) and I have absolutely no family history of balding whatsoever- not on my mother’s side or my father’s side. I went to the doctor and they did some bloodwork, said everything looks normal. They also said that because it’s from the front it’s probably hereditary.
I’m just so confused because it’s so rapid and no one in my family has ever gone bald!!
Any suggestions? Did the doctor miss something?
Thanks!
-TM
Why do balding men end up in prison, low paying jobs, depressed and play the villians in hollywood?
Posted in Men's Health by: adminI’m talking about male pattern baldness here. Honestly, the only successful bald men with the rare exceptions that I’ve seen are either pilots, doctors and politicians. Where are the successful bald managers? At my company, the balding managers are the ones on the night shift, the worst of all. The people standing on the street corner with a sign are you guessed it, bald! The bad guys on TV and movies are bald. And when women mention an attractive bald guy it is always “Vin Diesel” or Bruce Willis. That’s a cop out! Am I the only one who notices this phenomina? What are the real consequences of losing your hair?
