Allergies: Garnier Fructis?
Posted in Allergies by: adminMarch 6th, 2008
I had a really bad allergic reaction to the Garnier Fructis. Which of the following ingredients is the fragrance:
Aqua Water , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Cocamidopropyl Betaine , Dimethicone , Cocamide MIPA , Distearyl Ether , Sodium Chloride , Behenyl Alcohol , Laureth-2 , PPG-5-Ceteth-20 , Pyrus Malus Apple Fruit Extract , Parfum Fragrance , Sodium Methylparaben , Carbomer , DMDM Hydantoin , Niacinamide , Pyridoxine HCI , Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride , Citric Acid , Saccharum Officinarum Sugar Cane Extract , Linalool , Butylphenyl Methylpropional , Citrus Limonum Lemon Peel Extract , Camellia Sinensis Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract.
Or is there some other fragrance on there that is not listed?

Parfume Fragrance is the man fragrance, but not the only one.
You might be allergic to another ingredient (non-fragrance) as well.
Your best bet is to make an appointment with an allergist and bring the bottle with you. This will help them determine what your reaction was a result of.
Best wishes!

I can’t do most strong smells as they make me sneeze and give me headaches. The parfum obviously smells, but I can see the limonium & camellia as possible culprits as well. Go to an unscented shampoo if it is causing big problems. Health food stores are starting to carry unscented things finally.
