The best thing is don’t use acne creams. Use a glycerin based soap and a good moisturizer such as Dove. Use lemon juice. Apply lemon juice and leave on for a few minutes than rinse off with cool water.

Acne cream is used when you have either a blemish or full blown acne in the inflammation stage. My suggestion to you would be to get on a good line of skin care products that will be designed to work with your skin type or conditions that are going on with your skin. Dermalogica products have little travel kits wtih a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and so forth to clean and maintain go skin care with no harsh ingredients in them. What ever you use look for noncomedogenic and hypo allergenic in your products. Spending alittle more on a good skin care line will give you quality ingredients as oppose to buying something cheap that are only filled with fillers. If you are doing the above and you do get a break out, you can always spot treat with a clearing gel, that way your not drying out the rest of your face.

Use something with 10% benzoyl peroxide in it. This is what I use and it seems to keep my face pretty clear. It used to only be available by prescription, but you now can find it over the counter in any drug store or supermarket. I just started using PanOxyl, but you can also find benzoyl peroxide in Clearasil on-the-spot treatment. Another good product to use is Salicylic Acid (found in many common acne treatments from Neutrogena to Clean and Clear). I have used both products. My acne is somewhat severe and have found the Salicylic Acid to be less effective than the Benzoyl Peroxide. It sounds like you don’t have bad acne and Benzoyl Peroxide can really dry your skin out so beware. Perhaps find a product with less than 10% in it and you should be fine. Also, at Wal-Mart you can find something called AcneFree Acne and Blackhead Terminator by University Medical. This stuff works great and has both Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid in it. Good luck!

Face pack for acne would be that of honey (1 tsp) with 1/2 (tsp ) of cinnamon powder. Apply for 15 minutes. Due to the antiseptic properties, bacterial infections in the skin are treated.Try this once in a 10day . More details at

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It’s time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website:
that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

I don’t want to preach but remember “the best defense is a good offense! ” Stupid, I know but stopping acne before it starts is better because some of the best acne creams can be hard on regular, healthy skin. Best thing you can do is make sure you CLEAN your face every am and pm. Never go to bed with make up on. Keep your hands off of your face unless you HAVE to touch it. Our hands are really great germ carriers even when we wash our hands . Next, what you put in your body shows up on the outside of your body. A good healthy diet with lots of fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats, NO greasey , fried foods or if you have to, only 1-2 times a week—also a good healthy diet keeps you looking fit and your figure looking nice. ALWAYS, always wear a good sun screen, SPF 30+ in intense sun, lower SPF on a daily basis and re-apply if you’re sweating or in the water. Trust a former sun worshipper who is now in her 40’s and has moles and freckles from the sun when I was in my teens and twenties also running the risk of skin cancer now from sun back then. Also, the sun will have you looking like your skin is leather when you get my age. OK, enough with the preaching of prevention of acne.
If you get acne, don’t wig out and over treat–you don’t want to apply harsh acids to your healthy skin. Most over the counter treatments contain benzo peroxide 5-10% like Clearasil . Now the newer treatments use acids in creams like salicylic acid–basically the stuff in aspirin, or fruit, citric acids like vit C. Alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, are found in creams and are used to rid the skin of dead top layer skin and reveals new skin for those of us who are looking to get rid of wrinkles caused by, ta da, the sun !! The dermatologist is the best bet for severe acne. Don’t pick at acne–it will leave scars, especially if your hands are dirty and infections kick in, not to mention just picking your skin is damaging. The big thing that does have a good reputation and seems to be gentle and effective is Pro Active acne treatment. But I don’t know if it is effective for everybody because some acne can be caused by medications, illnesses of the body, treatments for other illnesses, etc. Some treatments can have severe side effects like when they used to prescribe Tetracycline for severe acne. You had to be careful of what you ate and drank when on that antibiotic plus it could cause discoloration of the teeth.
So, like I said at the beginning of this novel–Sorry!–not getting acne if you can help it, is a heck of alot easier than getting rid of it once you have it. I hope I made sense and Good Luck to you!!
